Upgrading Asterisk version

Hello;
I am new to the goautodial software so forgive me for asking a very simple question. Is it possible to upgrade the version of Asterisk from 1.4 to 1.8?

you can upgrade .
only the beta asterisk by vicidial team supported ,
you can download from the below link

http://download.vicidial.com/beta-apps/

and also vicidial 2.7 version supports the asterisk 1.8
goautodail uses 2.4 version, you need to update the goautodial for vicidial 2.7 version

upgrade goautodial 2.4 to 2.7

but not sure while upgrading goautodial it will copy the asterisk 1.8 conf files from vicidial 2.7 sourcefile
